Blank scanner pages, cover sheets, or a page you'd rather not share: removing them takes a minute and doesn't require Acrobat.
Method 1: PDFJig (any device)
- Open PDFJig's Delete pages tool and choose your PDF.
- Click the pages you want to remove, or type their numbers, like 2, 5-7.
- Click Delete pages and download the new PDF.
Everything happens in your browser and your original file isn't changed. To keep only a few pages instead, use Extract pages, which saves just the pages you pick.
Method 2: Preview on a Mac
- Open the PDF in Preview and choose View, Thumbnails.
- Select the page thumbnails to remove. Hold Cmd to select several.
- Press the Delete key.
- Choose File, Export as PDF to save a new copy.
Tip: Saving with File, Save in Preview overwrites the original. Use File, Export as PDF, or duplicate the file first, if you want to keep the full version.
Method 3: Chrome's print-to-PDF trick
- Open the PDF in Chrome and press Ctrl+P (Cmd+P on a Mac).
- Set Destination to Save as PDF.
- Under Pages, choose Custom and enter the pages to keep, for example 1-3, 6-10.
- Click Save.
This keeps the listed pages and drops the rest. Clickable links and form fields may be lost, so use it for simple documents.
Other quick fixes
- To change the order of pages instead, use a PDF organizer that lets you drag pages around.
- To split one PDF into several files, use a PDF splitter with page ranges.
Frequently asked questions
Can I delete pages from a PDF without Acrobat?
Yes. PDFJig, Mac Preview and Chrome's print-to-PDF option all remove pages for free.
Is the deleted content really gone?
With PDFJig's Delete pages, removed pages are not copied into the new file at all.
Can I undo deleting a page?
PDFJig never changes your original file, so you can always start over from it. In Preview, use Edit, Undo before saving.
